This project pertains to the Istituto Marangoni furniture design competition, centered around the theme of fostering cultural exchange between Chinese culture and Western modern culture. During the Ming Dynasty in China, people recognized and admired the remarkable beauty and enduring stability of chair structures, achieved through continual reflection and experimentation. This ethos instilled a sense of tranquility and serenity among individuals. It represents the culmination of extensive exploration, contemplation, and experimentation, leading to the development of a dynamic and harmonious traditional Chinese aesthetic, which parallels the aesthetic evolution in the modern West. An example of such reinterpretation in Western aesthetics is Piet Mondrian's Composition with Red Blue and Yellow. In my belief, culture should serve as a catalyst for communication rather than a invisible wall.
