Sojaverbundstoffe (soja-composites)
The foundation of this project rests upon the utilization of soy and coffee grounds, residual materials obtained from a local Soy Concept Store. Both materials undergo a drying process prior to further treatment. To bind the components together, two vegetable-based substances, namely pine resin and alginate, were selected. The amalgamation of soy, coffee grounds, and liquid pine resin can be injected into a mold or compressed within a two-part mold to yield a three-dimensional form. The production of the composite with alginate necessitates precise control over temperature and uniform drying processes.
The culmination of these processes results in the creation of tableware elements, which find purpose within the Soy Concept Store itself. Collaborating with chemist Mr. Wang Weiqi, we have been able to accurately calculate the amount of carbon dioxide sequestered within each composite. This scientific endeavor provides a tangible pathway towards achieving carbon neutrality within the Soy Concept Store, offering an environmentally conscious solution.
